In 2008, I lost six family members within six months, including my parents and uncle. I made a black prayer shawl and wore it to my parents' funerals. It brought be comfort and solace and reminded me that God's arms were always wrapped around me. I also had two broken arms during that time in my life and recall thinking to myself the doctor was crazy when he advised me the best therapy was for me was to keep using my arms, but I did take his advice into action and I crocheted every day. I have decided to continue to crochet and make blankets for children who are in foster care as well as children homes....but I wanted to ask each of you to please consider taking out a few moments to write a note to one of these children so that they know someone cares - please either email me or mail me your note and I'll attach it to one of these blankets - THANKS SO MUCH!

I have become like both of my parents in so many ways - I have become even more like my mother, as I prefer to have my camera with me at all times. The only difference is hers was a 35 mm, and mine is digital, so I produce photographs as well as videos of people and places, including sometimes myself.

I have become even more like my father as I love to write more and more every day lately. I want to begin writing a "column" and keep on writing articles. And in the meantime, I continue my ongoin… Continue

Each time that I was on my way home from the hospital after each of my parents died, I noticed billboard with these words on it: "I'm still here, you know... Love, God"

I imagine my parents up in Heaven now together hugging, holding hands, smiling and relieved that they are no longer in pain and happy that they are together again and don't have to miss each other anymore. I think it is beautiful and romantic all at same time -
